                      Is Your Food Feeding Inflammation or Fighting It?

                      The Inflammation Spectrum delivers insightful and empowering advice to put you on a path toward food freedom and overall healing, once and for all. It will also help you determine which type of elimination plan you should follow based on your own analysis of your symptoms. There are eight possible systems of inflammation:

                      1. The brain and nervous system
                      2. The digestive tract
                      3. The detoxification system
                      4. The blood sugar/insulin system
                      5. The endocrine system
                      6. The musculoskeletal system
                      7. The immune system
                      8. Polyinflammation

                      Dr. Cole provides a detailed inflammation spectrum quiz that will enable you to determine where inflammation is causing you the most trouble. Then, you are provided a bio-individualized toolbox that will fit your needs and help you improve your health.

                      During the first four days of your step-down process, you will give up one category of food per day so that you can begin the elimination process with as little stress as possible. As you proceed through the eight-week program, you will be given specific instructions tailored to your own individual needs. Once your system is centered, clean, and calm you will be more easily able to determine which foods produce negative reactions in your body. The following symptoms count as reactions you should monitor:

                      • Any aggravation or recurrence of your past symptoms that went away during your previous four- or eight-week plan
                      •  Headaches or migraines
                      • Any digestive symptoms (bloating, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, abdominal pain)
                      • Any skin problems
                      • Eyes or mouth itching, irritated, or burning, especially right after eating a food
                      • Sudden nasal congestion, itching, or dripping, especially right after eating a food
                      • Increased heart rate: racing heart, palpitations, skipped heartbeats
                      • Joint pain or stiffness
                      • All-over muscle aches or stiff muscles
                      • Feeling feverish
                      • Brain fog symptoms
                      • Sudden fatigue
                      • Sudden mood changes
                      • Retaining water
                      • Sudden weight gain
                      • Sleep problems
