Natural Recipes for Clean Skin Exfoliation

It’s no surprise that skin, the body’s largest organ, requires regular maintenance to be its healthiest—but what’s the secret to success? Exfoliating can create the foundation for a skin-nourishing natural beauty regimen. “Exfoliation is incredibly important for radiant, youthful-looking skin, and I find that women are either not exfoliating enough, or they’re exfoliating incorrectly and irritating or sensitizing their skin,” says Jolene Hart, a certified beauty and healthy coach and author of Eat Pretty (Chronicle, 2014). FDA Asks Women To Protect Themselves

This month, the Food and Drug Administration sent a special women’s health alert and unveiled a new webpage urging caution for anyone using formaldehyde in hair-smoothing treatments, sometimes referred to as Brazilian blowouts. Using ‘Good Bugs’ for Beautiful Skin

Today, research on probiotics and the microbiome—the millions of bacteria and biomes found in and on the human body supports the fact that certain bacteria types are actually good for us. Although we most often associate this concept with digestion and gut health, a newer body of science points to the fact that your skin has its very own microbiome, too. “At the cellular level, skin represents a complex set of ecosystems composed of skin cells and their associated microbiome,” says William B. 9 Sunscreens You Can Trust This Summer

For over a decade, the Environmental Working Group’s Guide to Sunscreens has helped us see the light when it comes to choosing a safe and effective sun care product.
