Gluten-Free Snacks We Can’t Resist
With the gluten-free food industry as booming as ever, there are new snacks popping up at the grocery store at an alarming rate. The food industry has been doing their best to answer the desires of many consumers who want their snacks to be three things: gluten-free, relatively healthy, and delicious.
Our team of snackers did all of the grueling groundwork and have compiled a list of our favorite gluten-free snacks that recently made their debut. Wait until you get to the end of the list before rushing out to the grocery store – every single one is worth trying.
ABSOLUTELY GLUTEN-FREE SUPERSEED CRUNCH
Since I am a loyal customer of Absolutely Gluten-Free (I can’t get enough of their everything flatbread!!) I knew I had to check out this new product. Absolutely Gluten-Free decided to create the superseed crunch after conducting market research and noticing a gap in the gluten-free market for “organic, kosher, nutrient dense snacks.” What they created is a crunchy finger-food that contains sesame, chia, and flax seeds and comes in three flavors: cinnamon, toasted coconut, and original.
SNIKKIDY BAKED GRILLED CHEESE PUFFS
These baked corn puffs are AMAZING. Snikkidy uses aged cheddar and non-gmo corn before toasting to create a fantastic crunchy texture and a perfect grilled cheese taste. They make a few other kinds of puffs including a mac n’ cheese flavor, but the grilled cheese puffs are perfection.
KASHI CHEWY NUT BUTTER BARS
These bars, while shaped like granola bars, are the consistency of a perfect, chewy cookie. They’re made with all natural nut butters, coconut oil, and whole grains, so you don’t have to feel guilty about snacking. Also, check out these flavor options: coconut cashew macaroon, almond snickerdoodle, chocolate trail mix, and salted chocolate chunk. Yum.
GOOD HEALTH AVOCADO OIL POTATO CHIPS
Let’s be honest, sometimes the best snack comes in the form of a perfect potato chip. That’s why I was excited to see Good Health making potato chips out of a healthier oil. Avocado oil is full of healthy, monosaturated fats and vitamin E. They are certified gluten-free, available in tons of flavors (a few are sea salt, creamy french onion, lime ranch and jalapeno cheddar jack), and are popping up at grocery stores all over the place!
HIPPEAS ORGANIC CHICKPEA PUFFS
Ever since Starbucks began carrying Hippeas, I’ve become hooked. This snack is so delicious, it’s hard to believe it’s made out of chickpeas. Hippeas keeps releasing new flavors and their creativity knows no bounds: far out fajita, sriracha sunshine, vegan white cheddar, maple haze, pepper power and happenin’ hickory are the flavor choices for now, but I have a feeling this list will continue to expand. Each serving of Hippeas contains 3 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein – so is this even really a snack? To boot, Hippeas has a super cool website. Check it out.
