Author Grace O was the featured guest at the Flintridge Bookstore and Coffee Shop in La Cañada Flintridge on Saturday, June 2, to sign copies of her cookbook, FOODTRIENTS: Age-Defying Recipes for a Sustainable Life. The bookstore’s coffee shop, where the signing took place, was standing-room only. People came to hear Grace speak about her recipes filled with rejuvenating nutrients (she calls them FoodTrients) which help promote youth, prevent the diseases of aging, and increase energy and vitality. The crowd was invited to taste some of Grace’s recipes like Spinach and Grapefruit Salad, Green Tea Noodles with Edamame, Pomegranate Iced Tea, and Blueberry Hemp-Milk Smoothies. These easy-to-make dishes and the others in her cookbook help people achieve healthier, younger-looking skin, shinier hair, and the protection of cells and arteries.
A very special guest, the Vice President of the Philippines, Jejomar “Jojo” C. Binay (pictured at right), also appeared to wish Grace well with her cookbook launch and to take questions from the assembled members of the Asian and American press corps. His Excellency noted that his daughter, who lives in America, enjoys using Grace O’s recipes. Audience members who purchased the book remarked on the number of beautiful, full-color, photographs (one for every recipe) which made the book appropriate for gift giving.
Grace encouraged everyone to try cooking with some of her favorite, anti-aging superfoods like chia seeds, jackfruit, turmeric, and moringa leaves. She also stressed the importance of using organic ingredients and products, even organic cosmetics and cleaning supplies. Copies of the FoodTrients cookbook can be purchased through the website and on Amazon.com.
