Grace O Celebrates Her Second Gourmand Best in World Award!
Grace O attended the Gourmand International 2023 Awards ceremony in Umea, Sweden, with members of her FoodTrients team, her husband, Rupert Ouano, and other family members, all of whom joined in celebrating Grace O receiving the 2023 Gourmand award for the Best in the World in Health and Nutrition category for her cookbook, Anti-Aging Dishes from Around the World. Because this cookbook won a national award for Health and Nutrition, we were allowed to compete in the global competition for the Best in the World award.
Grace O is deeply honored to receive a second international award from Gourmand for her latest cookbook published by Skyhorse Publishing and distributed by Simon & Schuster. Grace O’s previous cookbook, The Age Beautifully Cookbook, was awarded the 2017 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards’ top honor — ‘Best in the World’ – in the Innovative category at Gourmand’s annual awards event in Yantai, China.
“All based on the principles of FoodTrients, the recipes in Grace O’s book take us on a journey through a world of thousands of cultures, all brought together for healthy eating. A gigantic undertaking in adapting many different culinary traditions for a result that makes you want to take care of yourself and your loved ones by cooking and, above all, by eating together.” – Gourmand 2023 Award for Best in Health & Nutrition Book in the World.
About Gourmand International 2023 Awards:
With over 100.000 screened books and publications from some 230 countries and regions, the Gourmand Awards bring an overview about food and drink information published all around the world. Gourmand prepared posters for the winners by countries that have been selected to compete for the Best in the World in 2023. All the posters have the front cover of the book, and a presentation text in English. It has been a huge amount of work for Gourmand, but it is little compared to the dedication and efforts of the authors and publishers.
There are 1,250 posters in total, 1,067 posters for Food Culture books, and 183 for Drinks Culture books, with books from 142 countries. Posters are helpful for international promotion, attract attention from other countries, and open the door to foreign rights trade and distribution. In fact, reading these posters is like reading a book on the State of Food and Drink Culture 2022.
Each category presents its national winners before the Best in the World Ceremony. The scope of this selection reflects the passion of all humanity for cooking, as well as the immense food challenges of the 21st century. This year the awards were held in Umea as part of the Umea Food symposium, where chefs from around the world attended and demonstrated.
Grace O is deeply thankful and honored that Gourmand has acknowledged the importance of her work in researching and creating healthy and tasty FoodTrients recipes for everyone to enjoy!
